Background on Plant

China Huadian has proposed a power station of 700 MW in Longtan Town. It would be a co-generation power plant, supplying heat to Yulin Longtan Industrial Park, as well as electricity.[2] A feasibility study has been completed.[3]

Project shelved

Due to new restrictions announced in 2016-2017 by China's National Energy Administration and the National Development and Reform Commission, further capacity expansions at this location may be on hold or cancelled. For details, see China's 2016 Restrictions on Development of Coal-Fired Power Capacity.

Due to the restriction policies against new coal plants in Guangxi, China Huadian decided to develop a 2*17MW gas-fired distributed CHP power project at Yulin Longtan Industrial Park instead. The company said it will seek opportunity in the future to revive the coal power project.[4]
