Zhangjiagang Shazhou power station

Background on Plant

The two existing coal-fired units of Zhangjiagang Shazhou power station, totaling 1,260 MW, were brought online in 2006. The plant is majority owned by Wintime Energy.

Expansion

In 2015 construction was underway on two additional coal-fired units at this plant, with a total planned capacity of 2,000 MW. The units were approved for construction in May 2015.

Unit 3 was commissioned in July 2017, and unit 4 in September 2017.
