Gunipudi power station (NBPL proposal) is a 300 megawatt (MW) coal plant proposed by Namratha Bizili Private Limited (NBPL), a subsidiary of Suryachakra Power Corporation in Andhra Pradesh.[1]

Background
In December 2011, The Hindu reported that the plant had been placed on hold "because of agitations at Sompeta and Kakarapalli":[2]
- According to sources, Surya Chakra Thermal Energy Private Limited, which had planned a 660 MW project, is now not keen on it. Same is the case with Namratha Bijli Private Limited which had plans to set up two projects with a capacity of 220 MW.Sree Siva Satyadeva Power Plant Private Limited which submitted a proposal to the Department of Industries for setting up a 2,000 MW plant, has reportedly dropped its plans. Laxmi Dynamics, Meghavaram Power Private Limited have also put their plans on hold because of agitations at Sompeta and Kakarapalli.
