{{#badges:CoalSwarm|Navbar-Turkeycoal}}Polat Tunçbilek power station is a 51-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in province, Turkey. Plans exist to expand the plant by another 300 MW, to 351 MW.

Location

The undated satellite photo below shows the plant, which is near Tunçbilek town, Tavşanlı district, Kütahya province.

Background on Plant

The 51-MW coal-fired Polat Tunçbilek power station was first licensed by Polat Enerji in 2003. The plant came online in November 2013.[1][2]

Several media sources mention a further 300-MW coal-fired generating capacity expansion in the Tunçbilek area; it seems to be the case that this capacity increase is in addition to the new 300-MW Kütahya Domaniç power station in neighboring Domaniç district, and that this additional 300 MW will be added to the new Polat Tunçbilek plant, bringing that plant to 351 MW. It is unclear when this 300-MW expansion for Polat Tunçbilek would begin, or at what stage the licensing process is.[2][3]
