Background

In September 2011 Energy World Corporation proposed building an LNG export facility with a capacity between 2 mtpa and 5 mtpa in Abbbot Point, Queensland. The design called for the construction of standard EWC liquefaction modules of 0.5 mtpa each.[1] In April 2014 EWC applied for government approval to build a facility which would be supplied by a 1000-km pipeline from the Cooper Basin.[2]

As of July 2019 the project has not progressed and it appears to be cancelled.
