Background

The pipeline has been approved for inclusion on the European Commission's Projects of Common Interest list, meaning it will receive public funding from the EU. According to the European Commission, "The project consists in a new onshore pipeline of approx. 430 km and in a new compressor station of 33 MW that will create a new transmission capacity of approximately 24 MCM/day (264 GWh/day) to transport gas from new or existing entry points in the south of Italy."
