Biographical Information

"After accelerating his career by selling his media consulting company to the Saatchi & Saatchi Group, Alan served as Chairman of European Operations, after which he became Chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi’s global PR firm, headquartered in New York.Alan has implemented public relations, marketing and crisis management programs in the United States, Europe, Russia, China, Japan, the Middle East and Africa.

"He was the personal media advisor to Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber for eight years, and has advised a range of high profile individuals and international corporations including DuPont, Procter & Gamble, Canon, British Airways, Johnnie Walker Whiskey, Gillette, IBM, Yamaha, Mars Group, Hewlett Packard, Johnson & Johnson, Sandoz, News International, and 3M.

"In the political and economic areas he was the personal U.S. spokesman for the Sultan of Brunei and has represented the Presidents and Prime Ministers of countries including Argentina, Romania, Nigeria, Pakistan, The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ghana, The Republic of Yugoslavia and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, appearing regularly on radio and television on behalf of these clients.

"Alan has worked extensively with television networks on both sides of the camera. Aside from his prolific journalistic career both in print and on screen, he handled media relations for the launch of Channel 4 and TV-AM in the United Kingdom and for CNN in Europe, working with Ted Turner and his European management team. He also took control of international media and promotion for the first United Nations World Television Forum in New York. Since January 2001 he has been New York correspondent for LBC 97.3 FM, London’s leading news radio station, and ITN Independent Television News.

"He also broadcasts on WOR-Talk Radio, New York, and UN Television. Most recently he has been a regular New York contributor to Press TV, the English language station in Tehran, Iran and an anchor for the UN augmented news channel, South-South News.

"In December 2007 he was elected President of The Foreign Press Association in New York. Alan has produced a number of award winning films for television and screen, including Wagner (1983), Hotel du Paradis (1988), Mozart in Japan (1989), Maria Callas (1990) and Testimony (1992), winning five awards from the New York Film and Television Festival.

"He is also the co-author of “The Public Relations Casebook”, a text book used by universities and colleges around the world, published by Kogan Page, London, now reprinted in paperback."[1]
