Biographical Information
"ANDREW BAKER joined Cadbury Schweppes Plc as a graduate trainee in 1982, beginning his career in marketing at The Kenco Coffee Company. After various marketing positions within the group, he moved to Tate & Lyle Plc, at the end of 1986, rising to become Sales & Marketing Director of the Speciality Sweeteners division, responsible for the launch of sucralose (Splenda) in North America. A change of direction then saw him become Managing Director of Veka, in 1992; a small tea and coffee business in the Netherlands, which, in turn, led to Andrew setting up and successfully running his own food marketing business in France (1994-1999). In 1999, Andrew was invited to rejoin Premier Brands as Group Marketing Director, a board role that he held for barely one year before rejoining Cadbury Schweppes as Business Strategy Director for developing markets. After three years in this role, Andrew became Managing Director of Cadbury Schweppes's businesses in Africa, the Middle East and Turkey; 10 companies, covering 40 countries, with a turnover of $1 billion. In 2007, Andrew was invited to become CEO of Duchy Originals Limited, a company owned and founded by HRH The Prince of Wales. Andrew is a former board member of MW Brands, Trilantic's former portfolio company. More recently, Andrew was the CEO of Bettys & Taylor of Harrogate."[1]
