Background

Anpara-D power station is a proposed expansion to the Anpara power station (A, B, and C). It received environmental clearance in 2007, and an extension of the clearance in 2014. The power station is planned for operation in 2015.

The first unit was synchronized in March 2015, and the second is planned for July 2015. In August 2015 it was reported that unit 1 had yet to provide power to the grid, as the unit kept tripping due to technical malfunctions. Unit 2 had yet to be commissioned, and was commissioned in March 2016.
