Background

Anpara-D power station is a proposed expansion to the Anpara power station (A, B, and C). It received environmental clearance in 2007,[2] and an extension of the clearance in 2014.[3] The power station is planned for operation in 2015.[4]

The first unit was synchronized in March 2015, and the second is planned for July 2015.[5] In August 2015 it was reported that unit 1 had yet to provide power to the grid, as the unit kept tripping due to technical malfunctions. Unit 2 had yet to be commissioned,[6][7] and was commissioned in March 2016.[8]
