Anpara C thermal power station is a 1,200-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power station comprising two subcritical units of 600 MW each in Uttar Pradesh, India.

Location

The Anpara-C station is at the center in this satellite image. Several hundred meters to the west is UPRVN's Anpara power station. To the southeast is the new Anpara-D power station (on the right).

Background

The Anpara-C power station, built by Lanco, adjoins the existing Anpara power station. operated by UPRVUNL. The power station is located near Anpara in Uttar Pradesh, India. Both units were commissioned in November 2011, according to the Ministry of Power.

The World Bank has supplied financing for the project.
