Anvil Mining

Anvil Mining is a small copper, silver and cobalt mining company based in Perth, Australia, but incorporated in Canada. [1]

One of Anvil's projects is the Dikulushi copper and silver mining operation, established in 2002 approximately 50 kilometers from Kilwa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. On October 14, 2004, a small band of several dozen rebels occupied the town of Kilwa. In response, a Congolese Armed Forces (FARDC) military unit - who flew into the town on an Anvil-chartered plane and used its trucks - went on a rampage, massacring approximately 100 people.
