"The Association of Charitable Foundations (ACF) is the UK wide support organisation for grant-making trusts and foundations of all types. Our membership of over 300 includes many large independent foundations; local and community trusts; family trusts; corporate foundations; and broadcasting appeals. Grants given by ACF members in 2005 totalled £1.2 billion... ACF was formed in 1989 and became a charitable company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales on the 1 January 2005."[1]
