Avis LaVelle

Avis LaVelle is President of the PR firm A. LaVelle Consulting Services, which is described as "specializing in public affairs, advocacy support, community outreach, and media training." LaVelle is the spokesperson for Consumers Organized for Reliable Electricity, a front group created by ComEd.

A biographical note states that before forming her own company she "was senior partner at The Foster Group, a Chicago-based IT consulting firm, where she was the liaison between the firm, local and state government, and the media. Prior to that, LaVelle was a veteran radio and television reporter with her career culminating in the position of senior political correspondent at WGN radio. She also served as state director for the Kerry-Edwards Illinois 2004 campaign, campaign manager for Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley's 1999 re-election campaign, as the Daley administration's first press secretary from 1989 to 1992, and as national press secretary for the Clinton for President Campaign in 1992. LaVelle advised in major policy-making as the assistant secretary of public affairs in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services." [1]
