Barbara Starr
Barbara Starr is a Pentagon correspondent for CNN, based in the network's Washington, D.C., bureau. According to Glenn Greenwald of The Guardian, Starr is "more accurately known as: the Pentagon's reporter at CNN" rather than CNN's Pentagon reporter.[1]
Since 2003, Starr has made repeated trips to Iraq and Afghanistan, traveling with Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Gen. John Abizaid and U.S. special forces{{fact}. In 2005, she was embedded with U.S. troops located on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border[citation needed]. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Starr had exclusive access to Lt. Gen. Russel Honore as the only reporter traveling with him as he directed hurricane relief efforts[citation needed]. Starr has also reported directly from the Persian Gulf, Russia and the Chinese-North Korean border. She also provides viewers with the latest news each day from the Pentagon regarding the war in Iraq and the war on terrorism.
