Battell Institut (Battell Institute Frankfurt): Battell Institute Frankfurt
Description
Battell Institut. Frankfurt am Main (L Norris 8/11/94). Project Conqueror was a project by BATCO begun in 1965 by Battell Institut, Frankfurt am Main, to examine the inhibition of delivery activity by smoke of various samples of cigarettes (L. Norris 8/11/94). Goblet cell tests showed that cigarette smoke exposure results in increased goblet cell formation in rat trachea with burley smoke causing a greater increase in goblet cells than flue-cured smoke (L. Norris 8/11/94). Non-charcoal filtered smoke was less toxic than plain smoke, with carbon-filtered smoke being least toxic (L. Norris 8/11/94).
