Background

The Bibiyana-Dhanua gas pipeline is operated by GTCL, a subsidiary of Petrobangla.[1] The pipeline consists of a 137-km gas transmission line with a 36-inch diameter set up over Habiganj, Kishorganj, Mymensingh, and Gazipur districts, including a 67-km haor (wetland) area in Habiganj and Kishoreganj districts. It was built by Chevron and cost a total of Tk 1709.77 crore.[2]
