Biographical Information

"He was a leader in the voluntary sector for 20 years, working for organisations from small community projects to large national charities. In 1998, after leading the start up of care services at New Era Housing Association (now known as the Dimensions Group) he was appointed the Chief Executive of the national drug treatment provider, Phoenix Futures. Bill led Phoenix through a period of growth for nine years before becoming freelance in 2006.

"From 2004 to 2009, Bill was the Chair of EATA, the trade body for independent providers of treatment to people with drug and alcohol dependency.

"As a consultant he has worked with organisations as diverse as small charities and Shire Counties. His projects have ranged from supporting the development of new services to advising on governance practice and structures.

"Bill is the Chair of Essex Probation Board. He is also the Chair of Adfam, the national organisation working with families affected by substance misuse. He is a Chartered Member of the CIPD and a Chartered Director, admitted by the Institute of Directors."
