Bogra-Rangpur-Nilphamari (Nilfamari) Transmission Pipeline (also known as Bogra-Rangpur-Saidpur (Seyedpur) Gas Transmission Pipeline) is a proposed natural gas pipeline in Bangladesh.[1]

The pipeline will run from Bogra, Bangladesh, to Saidpur in Nilphamari District of the Division of Rangpur, Bangladesh.

Background

The Bogra-Rangpur-Nilphamari gas transmission pipeline will be operated by GTCL, a subsidiary of Petrobangla.[1] The pipeline will provide an uninterrupted gas supply to the north and north-west regions and will also provide a supply of gas to power, industrial, commercial and other consumers.[3]

According to GTCL's 2017-2018 Annual Report, the pipeline's route survey and environmental studies have been completed. The development project proposal (DPP) was also approved in April 2018.[3] Construction was originally scheduled to be complete in December 2019, however, the commissioning date is now estimated to occur in summer 2021.[3][4] In November 2019, the total cost of the project was estimated at Tk. 1,378 crore 55 lakh.[5]
