Borriston Research Laboratories (Located in Maryland) They did research work for Lorillard.
Toxocologist Richard D Thomas revealed in his deposition in the case of USA vs Philip Morris[1] that he was Research director at Boriston in the 1981-82 period. They were involved in replicating the Auerbach beagle dog-smoking research.
They also did testing of cigarette additives and paper to check for toxicity. His associate was Dr Vigerstad on an emphysemia study.
