About ALEC |
---|
ALEC is a corporate bill mill. It is not just a lobby or a front group; it is much more powerful than that. Through ALEC, corporations hand state legislators their wishlists to benefit their bottom line. Corporations fund almost all of ALEC's operations. They pay for a seat on ALEC task forces where corporate lobbyists and special interest reps vote with elected officials to approve “model” bills. Background
A 2009 graduate from Hillsdale College, Mulder served as a Market Based Management Intern for the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation in the summer of 2009 before working at ALEC. She spent her first year in college at The Master's College, located in Santa Clarita, California.[2]
Hillsdale College is well-known as a stewing pot for up-and-coming conservative go-getters, referred to by the National Journal as a "conservative citadel."[3] The Master's College's stated mission is "to empower students for a life of enduring commitment to Christ, biblical fidelity, moral integrity, intellectual growth and lasting contribution to the Kingdom of God."[4]
