Scottish Power Limited was taken over by Iberdrola in late April 2007.[1]

British Energy was the UK's largest electricity generation company by volume, before being taken over by Électricité de France (EDF Energy) in 2009.

UK coal generation assets

The World Coal Institute lists Scottish Power as having 3.5 gigawatts of coal-fired power stations.[2]

British Energy's coal-fired power station is the Eggborough Power Station which is located in Goole, North Humberside. It comprises two units and has an installed capacity of 1,960 megawatts;[3][4]
