Background

Calypso LNG Terminal was a proposed LNG terminal in Port Everglades, Florida, United States. In February of 2009, Florida Governor Charlie Crist said he opposed the Calypso LNG in a public meeting, and many Fort Lauderdale residents and officials also opposed the project. Calypso subsequently announced that they would not be seeking approvals from the state or the Maritime Administration to move the project forward.
