Center on Reinventing Public Education

The Center on Reinventing Public Education (CRPE) is an industry-funded research center that also receives funding from corporate and billionaire philanthropists, as well as the U.S. Department of Education. Its director, Paul Hill, is also a member of the Hoover Institution's Koret Task Force.

Research Focus

The Center on Reinventing Public Education lists its focus as "choice and charters; finance and productivity; teachers; urban district reform; leadership; and state and federal reform."

Press Releases

The Center on Reinventing Public Education has released press releases that:

• advocate for a common set of "education reforms" such as standardized testing, measuring "teacher quality," charter schools, school choice, and "accountability for school performance."

• criticize the "last in, first out" policy for teacher layoffs that protect teacher seniority.

• advocate for policy changes "to help charter schools put their autonomy for best use."

• advocate for reductions in teacher pay
