The Coalition for Fair Transmission Policy is "a diverse group of electric utilities across the country," according to its website, which goes on to state that "more than 28 percent of U.S. electric customers, representing 26 states, are served by utilities and companies which are either formal CFTP members or are on record supporting the group's goals. The group will support legislative and regulatory policies within comprehensive energy legislation that will lead to the most efficient development of the nation’s electric transmission systems and clean generation resources."[1]
According to the Energy Guardian, the Coalition "want[s] FERC to adopt transmission planning and cost allocation rules that make the end users of delivered electricity pay for the new lines.[2]
