Colbun is a privately-owned Chilean power generation company. On its website -- translated via Google Translate -- Colbun states that it has power generation assets with a total capacity of 2,615 megawatts (MW) of which 1,268 MW is from hydro systems and 1347 MW from fossil fuel power stations.[1]
Colbun is controlled by the Chilean company, the Matte Group.[2]

Proposed coal-fired power stations
Colbun is currently developing the 350 MW phase 1 of the Complejo Termico Santa Maria de Coronel. Phase 1 of the power station is expected to be commissioned in late 2010. A further 350 MW unit is under consideration for the site.[3] The power station is being constructed by Posco Engineering & Construction.[4]
