"The CHO was founded in 1984 by Denis Haviland, a prominent industrialist who had benefited from healing. His ambition was to see healing more widely available and accepted, being offered by doctors and by the NHS. He formed CHO with the idea that it would become the recognised national body representing healers and healing, and that it would be in a prime position to promote healing.
