Corn Belt Power Cooperative, headquartered in Humboldt, Iowa, is a generation and transmission (G&T) electric cooperative owned by its member systems.
Corn Belt Power provides electricity to 11 member distribution electric cooperatives and one municipal electric cooperative (NIMECA) that serve farm members, rural residences, small towns and commercial and industrial members in 41 counties in northern Iowa.[1]
A fall- peaking utility due to its rural-based crop drying load, Corn Belt Power set its highest peak load in November 2009 at 340 megawatts. Corn Belt Power Cooperative has one wholly owned coal-fired power plant and is a joint owner of three coal-fired power plant units.[2]
