Countryside Alliance

The Countryside Alliance is a British group lobbying on behalf of what it calls country sports (mainly fox hunting). It was formed in 1998 from a merger of the British Field Sports Society, the Countryside Business Group and the Countryside Movement.

In 2002 it submitted a 27 page entry to the Data Protection Registrar stating that it holds files on its opponents. Guardian 1st Nov 2002

It announced on 22 July 2005 that its new chair would be inner-London Labour MP Kate Hoey - the Alliance has been traditionally seen as a Conservative leaning organisation.
