Lifeline for a coal company
In early September 2011 Cygnet Capital took over an equity raising for brown coal exploration company, Mantle Mining. The followed the decision by Intersuisse to withdraw from assisting Mantle with its capital raising. The Sydney Morning Herald reported that it "believes Intersuisse was bombarded in recent weeks with correspondence from opponents of the plan to mine and beneficiate brown coal from Bacchus Marsh for export." After Cygnet's decsiion, the company's offices were occupied by protesters against the proposed Bacchus Marsh coal project in Victoria.[2]
