Background
Dahej LNG Terminal is an LNG terminal in Gujarat, India.[1]
The terminal was India’s first LNG terminal and regasification facility. It was originally commissioned in 2004 with two 148,000 cubic meter storage tanks and an initial 5 mtpa receiving capacity. The first expansion of the project included two additional storage tanks and increasing the receiving capacity to 10 mtpa, which was completed in 2009.[2]
Phase 3 of construction, commissioned in 2016, added two additional storage tanks and increased the receiving capacity from 10 mtpa to 15 mtpa.

Expansion Background
In 2016, the terminal began construction on facilities to receive an additional 2.5 mtpa.[3]
In December 2018 Petronet announced that it would invest ₹ 2,100 crore ($316 million) to expand its terminal capacity in Dahej, Gujarat, from 15 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 20MTPA in the next two or three years.[4] The expansion was commissioned in June 2019.[5]
