Biographical Information
"Following a long and successful career with Marks & Spencer, David Gregory is now Chairman of Assured Food Standards, the organisation behind the 'red tractor' food labelling scheme. He is also a Director of Boparan Holdings Ltd, a multinational chilled foods business which trades in the UK as 2 Sisters Food Group.
"In addition to his roles with Assured Food Standards and Boparan Holdings, David Gregory is working with the Government's Foresight project on Global Food and Farming Futures, which is bringing together the Government and UK and international food companies to review the challenges of delivering food security in the coming decades.
"David Gregory's time with Marks & Spencer culminated with almost a decade leading the retailer's technology division, finally as Director of Technology. In this role he was responsible for maintaining Marks & Spencer's market-leading position for innovation. He also led the establishment of the company's high profile corporate social responsibility and sustainability programmes, which culminated in the adoption of the 'Plan A' concept.
"David Gregory is also a member of the Institute of Food Research governing body, a member of the BBSRC Council and a Governor of the British Nutrition Foundation."[1]
Previously worked with Marks & Spencer plc for over 25 years, most recently as Director of Technology for the Food Division until my retirement in April 2009. He was Appointed non executive Director of Boparan Holdings in March 2010. [1]
