Biographical Information
David was appointed Costain "Chairman in January 2008 prior to which he was Chairman of the Audit Committee. With a career that started in civil engineering and subsequently as a Chartered Accountant, previous roles include Group Finance Director for BAT Industries plc, Barclays Bank plc and Chief Operating Officer for Zurich Financial Services, member of the UK Accounting Standards Board, member of the International Accounting Standards Insurance Group, Non-Executive Director of Thomas Cook plc (2007 to 2012), Senior Non-Executive Director of Intertek Group plc (2002 to 2011) and Senior Non-Executive Director of William Hill plc (2002 to 2011). External appointments: Chairman of Arena Coventry Ltd, Senior Independent Director of Friends Provident Group plc." [1]
