Detmarovice Power Station is an 800-megawatt coal-fired power plant located near Detmarovice in Moravskoslezsky, Czech Republic.

Location

The plant is situated near the town of Ostrava, in the immediate vicinity of the Polish border and the major railway line from Bohumín to Žilina.

Background

The Detmarovice Power Station black coal-fired power station owned and operated by the CEZ Group. It consists of four 200 MW subcritical units commissioned in 1975-76. The power station was originally formed as part of the Ostrava-Karviná Power Stations; since 1990, it has been an independent organizational unit.
