Dominion Terminal Associates (DTA) operates a 20 million-ton a year coal export terminal in Newport News, Virginia. The terminal, which was constructed in 1984, is held in a partnership with subsidiaries of Arch Coal, Peabody Energy and Alpha Natural Resources.[1]
Alpha's 41% stake in the company is held by Alpha Terminal Company. In its annual report Alpha states it shipped 2.2 million tonnes through the port in 2010.[1]
