Earl Glass: Defense
Biography
Glass was a advertising art director for the Marlboro campaign, Leo Burnett in 1973 (L. White, Merchants 1988). Discussing cigarette ads and the warnings required since 1972, Glass said we should try to keep the warning label away from the packs in the ads. We do not want the warning label right under the pack. Some other brands put the warning at the top right where you can see them. We try to keep them at the bottom, and below the pack. (L. White, Merchants 1988).
