eHarmony is ostensibly an online dating service, however some have pointed out that it may also be an elaborate fishing expedition i.e. a front, for the Total Information Awareness program. If so, it would be highly useful since it is collecting personality profiles of large numbers of isolated Americans and connecting those profiles with IP addresses and in some cases credit card numbers and names.[citation needed]
