Eldev coal mine is a 500,000 tonnes per annum coal mine which has been developed by the MAK Corporation. The mine is located 330 kilometres southeast of Ulaanbaatar city, 40 km southeast of Choir railway station and 21 km east of Olon Ovoot station (Trans Mongolian railway).[1]

On its website the company states that coal from the mine is sold to both export and domestic markets. It lists major domestic customers as being "Erdenet Mining Corporation, Khutul Cement & Lime Plant, Darkhan Power Plant, Ulaanbaatar Railway and Darkhan Metallurgical Plant etc."[1]
