Elizabeth L. Lascoutx
Elizabeth L. Lascoutx is counsel for Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz's Advertising, Marketing, and Public Relations Group, and our Technology, e-Commerce and Privacy Group. [1]
A biographical note on FKKS's website states that Lascoutx "is the immediate past Director of the Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc. (CBBB), where she served for more than 16 years. During her tenure, she oversaw four-fold growth of a staff that conducted between 80 and 110 children’s advertising cases annually. She served as a vice president of the CBBB from 1997 to 2007. Ms. Lascoutx led CARU's effort to revise its Self-Regulatory Guidelines for Children's Advertising in 1996 to encompass online media and protect children's privacy. These Guidelines for Interactive Electronic Media ultimately formed the basis for the well-known Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998." [2]
FKKS announced Lascoutx's appointment to the firm was in response to the "the explosion in regulatory concerns over marketing directed to children." [3]
