Biographical Information

"From 1986–1991, Eric was employed by Time Trend Software, a stock analysis software company. A cryonicist since 1989, Eric served a stint as a member of the Alcor Investment Advisory Board and for a time became deeply involved in cryonicist politics. In 1991, having built-up his modest wage by playing the stock market, Eric retired and moved to Las Vegas.

"In 1992, Eric devoted his efforts to the campaign of Libertarian candidate Tamara Clark for State Senate. Eric’s interest in Libertarian philosophy led him to found The Atlantis Project, with the goal of creating an independent floating city in the Caribbean Sea named Oceania — a city independent of the limitations and bureaucratic failures of present day government. In its early stages, this project gathered a great deal of interest and was covered by media in the U.S. and around the world.

"After selling off his interests in an online matchmaker service to Match.com and contributing to IMS — an employee scheduling software venture, Eric moved on to launch the web hosting company, Colossus, Inc in May 1995. Later in 1995, Eric created thelist.com, which Colossus sold to Mecklermedia/INT Media Group Inc.

"The events of 9/11 and a life filled with various experiences and associations led Eric to found the Lifeboat Foundation to implement his vision of a humanitarian organization and think tank tasked with the preservation and enhancement of human life on a global scale. He sold Colossus in October 2005 to focus on the Lifeboat Foundation."
