Biography
Ernest Pepples was Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Brown & Williamson.(PMI's Introduction to Privilege Log and Glossary of Names, Estate of Burl Butler v. PMI, et al, April 19, 1996). In an April 4, 1978 memo outlining disagreements among the tobacco companies on the research direction of the Council for Tobacco Research, Ernest Pepples explained that the Council for Tobacco Research was organized as a public relations effort.[1]
