Background

The feasibility study of the pipeline's project was conducted in 1990.[2] On April 20, 1993, an agreement between Norway and Germany was concluded on the construction of Europipe I.[2] The pipeline became operational in 1995.[3] The Europipe I gas pipeline runs from the Draupner E riser platform in the North Sea to a receiving terminal at Dornum on the German coast. With an internal diameter of 40 inches, it is 620 kilometres long.[2] The pipeline has a reported capacity of 13 bcm/year[1]
