The Foundation on Economic Trends was begun and is run by author, activist and now futurist Jeremy Rifkin. It "is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to examine emerging trends in science and technology, and their impacts on the environment, the economy, culture, and society," according to it's website.
