Background
Freeport-McMoRan LNG Terminal is a proposed LNG export terminal 16 miles offshore in Louisiana, United States.[1] The proposed LNG would use existing offshore infrustructure of the McMoRan MPEH Deepwater Port, approved in 2007 for LNG regasification and import. [2] April 2017 updates on the US Department of Energy's website show delayed start dates for the project; Freeport-McMoRan now expects LNG exports to begin in 2022.[3]
