Background
Fujian LNG Terminal is an LNG terminal in Fujian, China.[1]
Operational since 2009, Phase I of Fujian LNG included two 160,000 cubic meter storage tanks that are capable of receiving 2.6 million tons per year.[2] Completed in 2011, Phase II construction added two tanks for a combined storage capacity of 640,000 cubic meters with annual receiving that doubled capacity to 5.2 million tons.[3]

Expansion Background
Construction began in 2016 on two additional storage tanks that are estimated to increase receiving capacity up to 6.3 million tons per year. The terminal is part of a $3.7 billion plan for LNG projects by the Fujian government to supply power to three power plants in the region and city gas to Fuzhou, Putian, Quanzhou, Xiamen and Zhangzhou.[5]
