Background

The LNG Receiving and Regaseification Terminal would have been located in the Suape Port, State of Pernambuco. In 2000, Petrobras and Shell incorporated a 50/50% Joint Venture named GNL do Nordeste (NE LNG). LNG supplies are likely to come from the Atlantic basin liquefaction plants.[1]

There have been no new updates on the project since 2000 and it is presumed to be cancelled.
