Gajmara (Gajamara) Super Thermal Power Project is a proposed 1600-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power station proposed by NTPC to be built near the village of Gajmara in Odisha, India.

Background

In September 2011, BGR Energy Systems announced that it had won the contract from NTPC to supply the supercritical steam turbin generator units for the Lara Super Thermal Prower Project (2 x 800 MW), the Darlipali Super Thermal Power Project Stage I (2 x 800 MW), the Gajmara Super Thermal Power Project Stage I (2 x 800 MW) and the Kudgi Super Thermal Power Project Stage I (3 x 800 MW).^[1]^[2]

In June 2015 NTPC said it was putting the coal plant on the back-burner to focus on other power stations. Fuel linkage for the plant is also not available. The project was described as a 1600 MW coal plant at Gajmara, Odisha.^[3] In February 2016 NTPC said fuel linkage was still unavailable.^[4]

As of October 2016, the project is no longer on NTPC's list of future capacity additions.^[5]
