Background

Gangavaram LNG Terminal is a proposed LNG terminal in Andhra Pradesh, India.

After Petronet signed an agreement with the Gangavaram Port in 2012, committed investment, and completed feasibility studies, the 10 mtpa LNG terminal has not moved forward as of 2017. The company’s wish list to the State government and reluctance for massive investment are reasons for the stalled progress on the project.

In January 2018 it was reported that the project had been unable to obtain financing or receive clearances for its pipelines, and with no progress since 2012 it appears to be cancelled.
