Background

On its website, the company says that it is "going to sign an MOU" with Government of Orissa for setup of a 2 x 660MW thermal power project at Ganjam District. The project will be use supercritical technology and will be based on a mixture of 40% imported coal and 60% indigenous coal. The estimated cost is Rs.7,500 Crs. The project is now in initial stage and the company has applied for various permissions and for land identified in Ganjam District

As of 2014 the company's website has expired and the company has not applied to the government of India for environmental permits, and the project may have been cancelled.
