Background

On its website, the company says that it is "going to sign an MOU" with Government of Orissa for setup of a 2 x 660MW thermal power project at Ganjam District. The project will be use supercritical technology and will be based on a mixture of 40% imported coal and 60% indigenous coal. The estimated cost is Rs.7,500 Crs. The project is now in initial stage and the company has applied for various permissions and for land identified in Ganjam District[1]

As of 2014 the company's website has expired and the company has not applied to the government of India for environmental permits, and the project may have been cancelled.
