Coal-fired power stations
On its website the company states that it is "aggressively working upon its 'Vision 15000' of setting up of pithead based Thermal Power Plants of capacity 10000 MW in the states of Gujarat (2640 MW), Orissa (1320MW), Bihar (1320MW), Ranchi (1320MW) and Visakhapatnam (1320 MW). The Group has signed an MOU with Government of Gujarat and Government of Orissa to setup thermal power plants in these states. SPR Group had discussion with Government of Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh for setup of thermal power plant; these are in pipeline for MOU with the concerned governments."[1]
The company also states that it "has planned to acquire number of coal mines from the Coal Ministry, GoI, or in other countries like Indonesia, Australia, South Africa thereby making the thermal power generation highly cost competitive."[1]
Proposed coal-fired power stations
- Okha power station - a 2640 megawatt (MW) coal plant proposed for Gujarat, India.
- Savarimangalam power station - a 2640 MW coal plant prpoosed for Tamil Nadu.
