Geoff Walsh is the Director of Public Affairs for the global mining company, BHP Billiton. Walsh was appointed to the position in November 2007 and reports to the CEO, Marius Kloppers.
Prior to joining the mining company, Walsh had worked as the chief of staff for the Victorian Premier Steve Bracks. "He has also advised Australian Prime Ministers Hawke and Keating, was Australian Labor Party National Secretary from 2000-2003 and served as Australian Consul-General in Hong Kong from 1995-1998," said the BHP Billiton statement announcing his appointment.[1]
